Dhanas resident held for sodomising 9-year-old boy

Chandigarh, November 22

A Dhanas resident has been arrested by the UT police for allegedly kidnapping and sodomising a nine-year-old boy. The suspect has been identified as Narinder, a resident of Milk Colony, Dhanas.

The victim, son of a labourer residing in the Dhanas colony, had gone to Milk Colony last night, where a wedding function was underway. The suspect kidnapped the boy from near the venue and took him to his house.

The victim’s parents started searching for him after he failed to return home. In the morning, local residents told them that they had heard the noise of a boy crying from the suspect’s house.

All of them went to the suspect’s house. However, he did not open the door. The police were informed, who rescued the boy. The victim was medically examined.

The suspect was arrested and a case under Sections 363, 365, 343 and 377 of the IPC and Sections 4/8/12 of the POCSO Act, has been registered at Sarangpur police station. — TNS
