Dera Bassi, February 6

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann today launched the "Aap Di Sarkar, Aap De Dwar" scheme at Bhankharpur village near Dera Bassi. The scheme entails holding citizen-centric service camps at the village/mohalla level, which would help bring government services to peoples' doorstep, hence increasing the ease of living.

CM Mann said as opposed to people having to go through the hassle of visiting multiple government offices umpteen times for official work, government officials would now come to their doorstep and offer the same services. More than 11,600 camps are slated to be organised across the state this month that would cover both rural and urban areas. Additionally, four camps would be held in every tehsil on a daily basis.

Prior to this initiative, the government had launched a flagship scheme offering 43 important services on doorstep in December 2023. People could book an appointment at their preferred time by calling 1076 and officials would visit their homes to assist them.

A total of 44 major services related to residence certificate, caste certificate, income certificate, birth/death certificate, fard, labour registration, pension, etc, can be applied for and will be delivered at the camps.

Mann also said other than availing of necessary services at the camps, citizens could also lodge complaints, if any, and they would be looked into on the spot.

Taking a jibe at Akali Dal's "Punjab bachao yatra", he labelled it as "parivar bachao yatra".
