Delhi man shoots self dead at sister’s house in Zirakpur

A 48-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with a revolver in Zirakpur here on Thursday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Manoj Aggarwal, a resident of Delhi.

It is learnt that Manoj allegedly ended his life at his sister and brother-in-law’s house at Maya Gardens, a society in Zirakpur.

According to the police, the victim arrived from Delhi at his sister’s house around 4 pm and took the extreme step around 8 pm.

Sources said Manoj was under depression as he was having financial issues with his sister. The police have initiated a probe to verify the same. No suicide note was recovered by the police.

According to the sources, a case has been registered against Manoj’s brother-in-law and sister on a complaint of his wife. However, the police have not confirmed this yet.

Inspector Gurwant Singh, SHO, Zirakpur police station, said, “We are investigating the matter through different angles. No case has been registered yet. The post-mortem examination is still not conducted.”
