Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) eves defeated UTCA by nine wickets in their last league match of the Rama Atray Memorial One-Day Limited Overs Cricket Tournament for Women.
After winning the toss, UTCA skipper Amanjot Kaur opted to bat. The side posted 136 runs before getting all out in 49 overs.
In reply, Punjab opened with Priyanka Malik and Ridhima Aggarwal. Priyanka made an early exit as she was caught by Amanjot off Kumari Shibi for five. Thereafter, Ridhima and Parveen Khan made a 104-run partnership for the second wicket. Ridhima retired hurt after scoring 55 off 87 balls. Parveen left soon after with a bout of cramps for 43 off 92 balls. Kanika contributed unbeaten 12 and Neetu Singh posted unbeaten 16 to ensure an easy win.
In another match, Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) outplayed Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) by 10 wickets. JKCA scored 73 in 42.3 overs. In reply, HPCA rode on Kashish Verma and Chitra Singh’s 74-run partnership to help the team win by 10 wickets.
The final match will be played between Punjab and Himachal at the Sector 16 Cricket Stadium on October 12. — TNS
