Chandigarh, January 14

UT Adviser Dharam Pal today inaugurated a new mini-Covid care centre at the Sports Complex in Sector 34 with a 50-bed capacity.

The centre has been set by M/s Kandhari Beverages Pvt Ltd. Vikram Kandhari, joint managing director of Kandhari Group, said all these were oxygen beds and qualified medical and para-medical staff had been provided to take care of Covid patients. He said a dedicated ambulance had been provided to the centre and arrangements had been made for music, yoga and nutritious food for patients.

The Adviser appreciated and thanked Kandhari Group for coming forward and associating with the Administration during the ongoing crisis. He said during the second wave also, a mini-Covid care centre was successfully operated by the group. The Adviser made an appeal to other NGOs and voluntary organisations to come forward and associate with the Administration in this noble cause.

Covid is spreading in the city at an alarming rate and it is expected that the number of infected persons may be many times the infections during the second wave peak in May 2021. The Administration has given a clarion call for setting up mini-Covid centers in the city voluntarily by interested organisations/associations.
