Covid-19: Panchkula breaches 7,000 mark

33 new cases, one death reported

The district crossed the 7,000 mark in terms of the number of Covid cases reported so far as 33 fresh infections surfaced today. The number of cumulative cases stands at 7,017.

Among the fresh cases, four each were from Sector 21 and Sector 8, three each from Kalka, Sector 20 and Sector 27, two each from Nada Sahib, Sector 12-A, Sector 6 and Sector 7, and one each from Amravati Enclave, MDC, Sector 4, Pinjore, Sector 12, Sector 17, Sector 25, Sector 4 and Sector 9.

The district also recorded one death today, taking the toll to 111. A 64-year-old man from Amravati Enclave, who was suffering from diabetes, hypertension, chronic kidney disease and coronary artery disease, succumbed to the virus.

As many as 6,740 patients have been cured so far. The district recovery rate is 96 per cent. There are 166 active cases.
