Chandigarh, October 17

In a virtual meeting organised by the Chandigarh Congress, a decision was made to organise meetings, protests and dharnas to raise the important issues of the city. The meeting was headed by Chandigarh Congress president Pardeep Chhabra where it has been decided to start an online social media campaign, “Speak Up for Chandigarh”, said a party spokesperson.

“Congress leaders will regularly raise issues plaguing the city such as imposition of a large number of taxes, threefold increase in water tariffs, exorbitant parking rates, issue of dumping ground, stray cattle menace, potholed roads among others,” said Chhabra.

He said, “City residents are disappointed with the BJP-ruled Municipal Corporation and nowhere-to-be-found MP Kirron Kher. We appealed residents to raise their voice against the inept Administration under the BJP rule on the social media”. — TNS
