Sidhu inaugurated the work of laying storm drainage pipe near the Civil Hospital and Government College in Phase 6 at a cost of Rs22 lakh. This pipe would be connected with Patiala ki Rao Choe.

Addressing the gathering, the Mayor said it would present a permanent solution to the problem of standing water outside the Civil Hospital and Government College in Phase 6.

He said the choe drains the water from Sector 70 and 71, Mataur village, Phase V and Phase 3B2. Also the water from the industrial area goes into choe, he said.

In order to drain the water from the choe, cleaning work is being expedited by installing JCB machines, Sidhu said.
