With her determination Gaganjot showed that being visually impaired was no hurdle in achieving her dreams. “Students need to focus on their studies to accomplish their goals,” said Gaganjot.

Forced to stay away from the school due to Covid-19 pandemic, Gaganjot said apart from the online classes and material provided by the school, she took help from the YouTube application for her studies. Her parents also used to record lectures for her.

Inspired by the country’s first visually impaired IAS officer, Pranjal Patil, Gaganjot said: “Nowadays, visually impaired children are not lagging behind anyone.”

“Like Pranjal mam, I want to make a mark in life,” said Gaganjot, who aims to become a professor of Hindi language.
