Chandigarh reports four deaths, 253 cases

Chandigarh, September 24

The city today reported four Covid deaths and 253 fresh cases, taking the toll to 144 and the tally to 10,968.

The UT Administration also added three fatalities that were previously not counted in the death toll due to other reasons. A 42-year-old woman from Kishangarh died of the virus at the GMCH, Sector 32. She was a diabetic. A 72-year-old man from Sector 32 succumbed to the disease at Mukat Hospital. He was also a diabetic.

A 76-year-old man from Sector 25, who was suffering from acute respiratory distress syndrome, breathed his last at the GMSH, Sector 16.

A 41-year-old man from Burail died at the GMCH. He had pneumonia, severe acute respiratory syndrome and a kidney disease complication,

The city reported 293 recoveries in the past 24 hours. There are now 2,482 active cases in the city as 8,342 patients have defeated the virus so far.
