Chandigarh, September 25

Mayor Raj Bala Malik was admitted to the PGI on Thursday. She tested positive on September 16 and was in home isolation since then. Sources said she was shifted to the PGI after her saturation levels dropped while she was in home isolation.

“Her vitals are stable and she is on a venturi mask for giving high flow of oxygen supply,” sources said.

The venturi mask delivers known oxygen concentration to a patient on controlled oxygen therapy.

With both the Mayor and Senior Deputy Mayor Ravi Kant Sharma battling COVID-19, the chances of Municipal Corporation holding a House meeting this month appear bleak.

MC Commissioner KK Yadav said, “Nothing has been decided as yet but the meeting can be held in October also. Due to the COVID-19 situation, meetings have been held online in the past.”

On September 15, Senior Deputy Mayor Ravi Kant Sharma had tested positive.
