The world is celebrating the 552nd birth anniversary of the first Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak Dev. On this pious occasion, people pay homage to the founder of Sikhism in different ways. Among them is a Chandigarh-based investor Harneet Singh Kharbanda, who decided to cycle 50 km around the City Beautiful to create a pattern of ‘Ik Onkar’. The symbol ‘Ik Onkar’ literally means there is only one God or one creator. It is a phrase in Sikhisim that denotes the one supreme reality and forms the central tenet of the Sikh philosophy.
Sharing a picture with ‘Ik Onkar’, the first words of the holy Guru Granth Sahib and that of ‘Mul Mantra’, Harneet wrote, “Made " Ik Onkar " pattern while cycling in chandigarh today.. 50 km ride. Happy Gurupurab everyone," on Twitter.
