Panchkula, February 18
An employee of the UT Education Department was allegedly beaten up by a group of men at Sector 28 while he was returning to his home.
The complainant, Vikas Sivach (35), told the police that around 15-20 men, who were creating nuisance in the middle of a road, blocked the way of his car near the dispensary on Wednesday evening, around 9 pm.
“I blew the horn, but they didn’t allow me to move forward. I stepped out of the car to convince them. However, they started hurling abuses at me. When I objected, they started beating me up with sticks. I was hit on the head and it started bleeding,” the FIR read, quoting the complainant.
The group members also threatened to kill the complainant before fleeing the scene, it added.
The injured complainant was taken to Ojas Hospital in Sector 26 for treatment.
A case in this regard was registered against Rahul and other unidentified persons under Sections 148 (rioting, armed with deadly weapon), 149 (every member of unlawful assembly guilty of offence committed in prosecution of common object), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC at the Chandimandir police station.
