Carmel tragedy: Sheela off ventilator support, still comatose

Over 10 days after being admitted to the PGIMER, woman bus attendant of Carmel Convent School, Sector 9, Sheela has been taken off ventilator support. The patient, who had slipped into coma after suffering a severe head injury, is still maintaining “M65” coma status. As per medical officials of the institute, the patient has starting showing some response, but was still comatose. She is maintaining stable blood pressure and is haemodynamically (functioning of blood circulation) stable.

Around 30 students are organising a fundraiser in Sector 9 for the family of the 40-year-old patient. The school authorities have consented to foot the medical bill for the attendant’s treatment at the PGIMER.
