BSF remembers fallen heroes

Chandigarh, October 21

Tributes were paid to the martyrs at the Border Security Force’s Western Command Headquarters on Police Commemoration Day.

A wreath was laid at the memorial by NS Jamwal, Additional Director General, BSF, Western Command, on behalf of all ranks of the force.

Senior BSF officers and personnel were present on the occasion.

Police Commemoration Day is observed in memory of the 10 Central Reserve Police Force personnel, who lost their lives while defending India’s sovereignty against the Chinese army in Ladakh in October 1959.

From September 1, 2020 to August 31, 2021, 47 BSF personnel have sacrificed their lives in the line of duty
