Boy killed as truck hits bike in Raipur Rani

An 18-year-old boy was killed while the pillion rider, both residents of Hangoli village, was injured after a truck hit a two-wheeler near an under-bridge at Mauli in Raipur Rani late yesterday.

The deceased has been identified as Shubham. He died on the spot. Tthe pillon rider, Rajpal, suffered injuries.

The complainant, Mukesh Kumar, a relative of the victim and resident of Hangoli, said, “Around 10 pm yesterday, we were on our way back from Barwala. My cousin, Shubham, was riding a motorcycle with Rajpal as his pillion rider, while I was on another vehicle. We were on National Highway 7 when near a under-bridge, a speeding truck hit his motorcycle and sped away.”

A post-mortem was conducted today after which the victim’s body was handed over to his family.

The police have registered a case under Sections 279 (rash driving) and 304 A (death by negligence) of the IPC at the Raipur Rani police station.
