Bhavya claims gold in wushu

Chandigarh, July 4

Bhavya claimed gold medal in the U-21kg weight category of girls’ sub-junior event on the concluding day of the 12th Chandigarh State Wushu Championship today.

Vanshika (U-24kg), Sakshi (U-27kg), Aditi Rana (U-30kg), Radha (U-33kg), Harshdeep Kaur (U-36kg), Charanjot Kaur (U-39kg), Shikha (U-42kg), Gigisha (U-45kg), Mahi Kapoor (U-48kg), Sunayana (U-52kg) and Anvi Sharma (U-56kg) claimed gold medal in their respective weight categories.

In the boys’ sub-junior event, Sparash Rana (U-24kg), Kapil (U-27kg), Parintaya (U-30kg), Samarjit Singh (U-36kg), Digvijay (U-39kg), Parianshu Kumar (U-42kg), Anmol (U-45kg) and Navdeep Singh (U-60kg) won the top honours.

Yash Sharma (U-45kg), Muskan (U-48kg), Shiv Kumar Sharma (U-52kg), Angad (U-56 kg), Shivam (U-60kg), Sumit (U-65kg), Sanchit (U-70kg) Varun Sharma (U-75kg) and Varinder Yadav (U-80kg) claimed gold medals.

In the girls’ junior event, Anu (U-45kg), Shivangana (U-48kg), Vanya Gaur (U-52kg), Pooja Sharma (U-56kg) and Sanya (U-60kg) claimed first position.

All gold medallists have been selected to participate in the 22nd Sub-Junior National Wushu Championship to be held in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, from July 9 to 15.
