Bathinda man gets bail

Dr Sushil Kumar Garg, Special Judge, CBI court, has allowed bail to Bathinda resident Inderjit Singh Bath, who is an accused in a bribery case.

The CBI had arrested senior officers and employees of the office of the Labour and Employment Ministry, Sector 9, on May 30, 2019, along with a few employees of a construction company in Bathinda. Two officials were caught while accepting a bribe of Rs1.3 lakh from two partners of an HR firm and employees of the construction firm.

The counsel for the accused said no offence had been committed by the accused and there were no direct allegations against him in the FIR. The petitioner has a minor daughter, who is totally dependent on his income, claimed the counsel. After hearing the arguments, Bath was granted bail. The CBI has made 35 prosecution witnesses in the case.
