Chandigarh, October 15

A triangular contest for the Punjab and Haryana High Court Bar Association’s president and vice-president is on the cards.

Three candidates - Puneeta Sethi, GBS Dhillon and Dayal Partap Singh Randhawa - are contesting for the president’s post during the elections scheduled to be held on November 6.

Punjab and Haryana High Court Bar Association Election Committee chairman KS Sidhu said Hirdey Pal Singh Rahi, Vikas Malik and Sharmila Sharma were in the fray for the vice-president’s post.

Senior advocate Sidhu said Chanchal K Singla, Ravinder Kumar Bangar and Aman Rani (Sharma) were contesting for the honorary secretary’s post, while Kanu Sharma and Manjit Kaur were contesting for the joint secretary’s post.

Sidhu also stated that Jagjit Singh Chatrath, Parampreet Singh Bajwa (Harry) and Sahil Gambhir were contesting for the treasurer’s post.

“There is only one candidate - senior advocate Sanjay Bansal - for the senior executive member’s post. For woman member also, only one candidate Daljit Kaur was there. So they were declared elected,” he asserted. — TNS
