Blanks Gopal in U-12 quarterfinals | Mehraab ousts Om | Ishita in last-8

Top seed Armaan Walia thrashed Gopal Jee to seal a spot in the boys’ U-12 semifinals on the second day of the Roots-AITA Talent Series (TS7) National Ranking Championship at Zirakpur today. Walia won 6-0 6-0.

Kirtarth Singh drubbed Soham Kaushik 6-1 6-0, while Gaurish Madaan humbled Kavin Grover 6-4 6-4 in the quarterfinals. Aarush Sharma registered a 6-0 6-4 win over Ayaan Modi.

Mehraab in quarters

In the boys U-14 competition, Mehraab Singh edged out Om Kaushik to move into

the quarterfinals. Mehraab won 6-2 7-5.

Gunzit Singh downed Gurkirat Singh 6-1 6-0, while Daksh Khokhar blanked Vismay Nair 6-0 6-0. Satvik Singla dismissed Prabir Singh 6-1 6-3 in the pre-quarterfinals.

Armaan Walia had an easy outing against Arsh Vij. He won 6-0 6-0. Samarpit Bhatia dumped Atharav Khanna 6-0 6-1 and Hardik Khanduja ousted Tanav Gupta 6-0 6-2.

Isheeta advances

Isheeta Midha, meanwhile, came from behind to beat third seed Shrawasti Kundilya in the girls’ U-14 pre-quarterfinals.

Isheeta lost the opening set 4-6, but came back strongly to win the next two sets 6-2 (10-2) to seal a spot in the quarterfinals.

Top seed Anandita Sharma registered a 6-0 6-3 win over Radha Pandey, while second seed Sidhak Kaur packed Shaurya Pathak in the pre-quarters. Sidhak won 6-2 6-0.

Mehak Preet Kaur defeated Inaayat Juneja 6-4 6-0 and Akshdha Sharma prevailed 6-2 6-3 over Mudita Awasti. Gurmannat Kaur ousted Jhanvi Matta 6-2 6-0.

Hitanshi Sardana outplayed Ekam Kaur Shergill 6-1 6-3, while in the last pre-quarterfinal match, Kanishka Vashisht beat Priyanshi Katial 6-1 6-2.
