Chandigarh, July 18

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is likely to visit the city next week.

A senior UT official said the schedule of the Union Minister’s visit was yet to be finalised. He, however, said the minister was likely to take part in a series of programmes, including a seminar, to be organised by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).

The Union Minister was likely to inaugurate two school buildings and also lay the foundation stones of another two school buildings of the UT Administration. A detailed agenda of the visit would be prepared in a day or two and sent to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) for approval. The exact date of his arrival would be finalised very soon, said the official.

During his visit to the city on March 27, the Union Minister had announced the implementation of the Central Civil Services Rules for the employees of the UT Administration, which were made applicable from April 1.
