After 484 days, Chandigarh logs just one Covid case

No death reported in UT since July 5

Chandigarh, July 16

After 484 days, the city recorded only one Covid-19 case today, the lowest since the pandemic began in March 2020.The first case in the city was reported on March 19 when a 23-year-old woman, who had returned from the UK, tested positive.

The average positivity rate of the past seven days fell further to 0.30 per cent and active cases dropped to 58. The UT has not reported any death since July 5.

The GMCH, Sector 32, has only four Covid patients on oxygen beds, while no patient is on ventilator bed. As many as 29 patients are on oxygen beds at the PGI, while 11 are on ventilator beds. — TNS
