Administer 2nd dose to all eligible persons by Nov 30: Mohali admn

The district administration today issued instructions to officials of the Health Department to ensure that the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine be administered to all eligible citizens in the district by November 30.

DC’s appeal to residents

Mohali Deputy Commissioner Isha Kalia appealed to residents of rural and urban areas to visit special vaccination camps being organised by the government from time to time and take the second dose of the Covid vaccine.

Officials said there were 2,59,761 residents who were eligible for the second dose, but they had not taken the jab till now.

Deputy Commissioner Isha Kalia held a meeting at the District Administrative Complex here today to review the Covid-19 vaccination in the town.

Komal Mittal, ADC (G), Himashu Aggarwal, ADC (W), Kuldeep Singh Bawa, SDM, Dera Bassi, Avikesh Gupta, SDM, Kharar, and Dr Adarshpal Kaur, Civil Surgeon, were also present in the meeting.

The Deputy Commissioner directed medical officers stationed in rural areas to visit door to door to ensure that those who have not received the second dose of the Covid vaccine get jabbed.

She said all sarpanchs of the district had been instructed by the administration to identify the residents who had not been able to get the second dose of the vaccine.

Orders were also given to set up Covid vaccination camps in all wards under the Mohali Corporation. The Deputy Commissioner also directed the Civil Surgeon to disseminate information about Covid vaccination camps at any place through the social media as well as other means of publicity so that eligible residents get the vaccine.

The Deputy Commissioner also announced that the government would give special honours to first three villages and three wards of the Mohali Corporation leading the second dose of the Covid vaccine.
