Above normal rainfall likely for two months in Chandigarh: Met

The city is expected to see normal or above normal rain during the remaining two monsoon months of August and September.

As per the forecast released by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) today, the two months are expected to see monsoon rainfall of 94% to 106% of a long-term average.

“Minimum temperatures are expected to remain below normal, while maximum temperatures are likely to be normal,” said Chandigarh Met Director Manmohan Singh quoting the forecast.

Average rainfall in August is 273 mm based on 30 years data. Also, the average minimum temperature in August is 26.2 °C, while average maximum temperature is 33.2 °C.
