AAP criticises Chandigarh MC for providing ‘fudged’ data

The city unit of the AAP today wrote to the MC Commissioner criticising the corporation for “providing fudged data to get ranking”.

“It has come to my attention that the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation (MC) has stood second in waste segregation in the Swachh Bharat Sarvekshan. I wish I could congratulate you for this, but it is actually embarrassing that fudged data was provided for the Swachh Bharat Mission, which is far from the ground reality,” wrote Prem Garg, AAP convenor.

“The height of the garbage dump and thousands of tonnes of unprocessed waste lying in the processing plant is a testimony to this stark reality. The failure to run the processing plant by the MC after taking over from Jaypee company is an egg on the face of MC officials, who were making big claims that they will do wonders after taking over the plant,” the AAP critcised. — TNS
