All 86 persons, who attended a religious event of Bhai Nirmal Singh Khalsa, a former Hazoori Ragi of Golden Temple, at a house in Sector 27 on March 19, were today home-quarantined by the local authorities. The 62-year-old ‘Gurbani’ exponent had died due to heart attack yesterday, a day after he tested positive for Covid-19 in Amritsar.

Over 36 others quarantined too

  • Thirty persons, who had come in a contact with an NRI couple who had recently tested positive, have been home-quarantined too. Besides, six others who came in a contact with a doctor, a resident of Sector 49, who had tested positive recently, have been put under home quarantine.

  • Till now, about 1,300 persons have been quarantined in the city.

According to officials, all those who have been quarantined belong to Sectors 27, 18, 33 and 36. They are said to have come in the contact of the event organiser near the dais and the Ragi.
