58-year-old biker dies in hit-and-run

In a hit-and-run case, a 58-year-old man was killed when his motorcycle was hit from the rear by a rashly driven car near Lalru late last night.

The deceased has been identified as Sulinderpal, who hails from Saini Majra village in Kurukshetra district. His son Shubham told the police that his father was going to Dera Bassi on a motorcycle at 10.30 pm while. He and his uncle Karnail Singh were also following him on another motorcycle. He said when they reached near Lalru, a rashly driven car hit his father’s motorcycle, injuring him seriously. The car driver sped away from the spot. He said passers-by took his father to the Civil Hospital, Dera Bassi, where doctors declared him brought dead.

Investigating officer Baljinder Singh said on a statement of the son of the deceased, a case had been registered.
