5 booked for land fraud

The police have booked five suspects for a fraud related to 3.7 bighas of land in Nagla village involving Rs60 lakh with a Sector 9 businessman on December 23.

The suspects have been identified as Satish Gupta, Pardeep Gupta, residents of Dera Bassi; Gurmeet Singh, a resident of Mohali; and Vishal Garg and Deepika Garg, directors of Vinmehta Films Private Limited.

A case under Sections 420, 406, 120B, 465, 467, 468 and 471 of the IPC was registered at the Zirakpur police station on December 23.

Complainant Kewal Garg stated that Vishal Garg and Deepika Garg fraudulently got 13 sale deeds done in their favour from one unregistered partnership firm namely Sai Associates by making fictitious entries of Rs15 lakh each and taking it back on the same day and same time from a company in which the partner of Sai Associates is a director.
