4 youths thrash 2 cops at Zirakpur, booked

Four youths have been booked by the Zirakpur police for allegedly attacking two police officials and injuring them late last night.The injured policemen are Head Constable Ram Kumar and Constable Amandeep Singh.

According to the police, the Police Control Room at the Zirakpur police station received a call around 11 pm that some people were fighting at Himachal Hotel in Zirakpur. After this, both policemen went to the spot and found a motorcycle parked outside the hotel.

Soon, a youth came out and told the police that he owned the bike and left the spot immediately. After this, four youths came out of the hotel and started thrashing the policemen alleging that they had helped the biker flee. They allegedly attacked them with rods and sticks, and after leaving them seriously injured, fled from the spot. The four suspects have been identified as Nurshad, Dilkash, Gulshad and Nazim, but the police are yet to verify their residence. A case under Sections 307, 323, 506, 186 and 34, IPC, has been registered against them at the Zirakpur police station. Onkar Singh Brar, SHO, Zirakpur, said they had identified all four suspects and they would be arrested soon. The victims are undergoing treatment at the Civil Hospital in Dhakoli.
