The police have arrested four persons, including an employee of the Model Jail, Burail, for supplying a SIM card and a mobile phone to a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang lodged in the jail.

The mobile phone (Nokia) and the SIM card were recovered from Manjeet Singh, alias Mota, alias Rahul, on June 2. He had concealed the phone in his undergarment. Manjit is lodged in the jail in connection with the murder of a property dealer, Rajveer Singh, alias Sonu Shah.

The four suspects have been identified as jail employee Manoj Kumar and three others namely Abhishek and Gaurav of Dadumajra and Noni of Sector 38.

The police said the role of another jail inmate, Harish, is under the scanner. Manoj, a contractual safai worker deputed at the jail dispensary, supplied the SIM and the mobile inside the jail.

Sources said Manoj had wrapped the SIM and the mobile around his leg with tape to supply these to the jail inmate. Abhishek had used forged documents for procuring the card. Gaurav collected the card from Abhishek and handed it over to Noni, who further gave it to the jail employee, Manoj.
