4 held with 30 stolen cellphones

Mohali, December 11

The police today busted a gang of mobile phone thieves with the arrest of four persons and recovered 30 cellphones from their possession near the Sohana chowk yesterday.

A case under Sections 379, 379-B, 411 and 34 of the IPC has been registered against the suspects - Sohana resident Monu Khan, alias Sonu, Khush Kumar, alias Chhotu (22), Rohit Mahto (23) and Sanju Kumar (24).

The police said Monu Khan, alias Sonu, was also involved in drug trafficking.

The accused were involved in looting and theft of mobile phones in Mohali since long time. They were also addicted to drugs. Two theft and snatching cases are already registered against Monu Khan. — TNS
