Victim’s mobile was dumped at MDC

  • While fleeing, the carjackers threw the victim’s mobile phone at the MDC, Panchkula. After searching for a few hours, the police managed to traced the mobile phone.

Three miscreants reportedly took away a Hyundai Verna at gunpoint from a software engineer at IT Park last night.

The victim, Aditya Dhindwal (36), a native of Rohtak, works in Gurugram, but had come to his company branch at IT Park.

The police said he parked his car in the parking lot adjacent to the DLF building and was waiting for the delivery of his food from Zomato.

As he was about to sit in his car, two miscreants came and caught hold of him, while a third one threatened the victim with a pistol and pushed him away from the car.

The miscreants took his white car (HR 20 X 5155) and sped away from the spot. The victim’s purse, containing Rs 3,000, documents, including debit and credit cards, a laptop and a mobile phone, was also lying in the car.

The police were informed about the incident, who visited the spot. Teams have been constituted to check the footage of CCTV cameras in the vicinity of Chandigarh and Panchkula. “The complainant’s phone was put on surveillance and it was later recovered,” said a police official.

The carjackers are suspected to have fled towards Ambala. The police said teams had been dispatched to different places to nab the culprits and recover the car.

A case of robbery and under the Arms Act has been registered at the IT Park police station.

CCTV footage of various places is being scrutinised to get clues about the carjackers.
