3-day police remand for guava orchard scam suspect

A Mohali Court has sent Punjab Horticulture Development Officer JS Sidhu to 3-Day police remand in the guava orchards compensation scam case today. The VB arrested Jaspreet Singh Sidhu on January 30. Sidhu has served at Kharar and Dera Bassi for 15 years.

The VB said that initially, Sidhu had obtained interim bail from the High Court. However, the High Court dismissed his anticipatory bail petition on January 24. Thereafter, the suspect absconded from the VB until he was duly arrested in Mohali.
