27 more micro-containment zones declared in Chandigarh

To break the chain of coronavirus transmission, the Chandigarh Administration on Wednesday declared 27 micro-containment zones in the city. 

UT Adviser Manoj Parida said the issue of outbreak of Covid-19 was examined by a committee and a considered view emerged that the affected areas be declared as micro-containment zones in the city. 

The affected areas declared as micro-containment zone are: Parts of Sectors 15, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 27, 29, 32A, 32D, 35A, 37A, 38D,40C, 41A, 42B, 46B, 46D, 47, 52, 63, Pipliwala Town, Indira Colony, Behlana, Mauli Jagaran, and Vikas Nagar. 

Meanwhile, the UT Administration also modified four earlier declared micro-containment zones. The modification was done on the basis of recommendation received from the Affected Areas Assessment Committee in Parts of Sectors 15, 21, 42C and Shanti Nagar, Manimajra. 

The Administration also removed containment zone restrictions from parts of Sector 15, Sector 19, EWS Colony, Dhanas, Hallomajra and Ramdarbar. 

Earlier, the Administration had declared 24 pandemic affected areas as micro-containment zones in the city on September 8.
