Despite diarrhoea cases being reported in hundreds in the area till now, the Zirakpur administration and Municipal Council officials maintained that no leakage or contamination of water had been found in pipelines so far.

Samples of the MC water supply and individual submersible pumps were collected today from various places.

Jagjit Singh Jajj, in-charge of the water supply in Zirakpur, said, “Tankers have been stationed at various places to supply water to residents. We are actively working to check leakages.”
