Mohali, June 19

Two days after a manager of a farmhouse was allegedly axed to death by three of his workers at Kahlon Farms near Nada village here, the Mohali police have arrested two prime suspects.

Police teams, under the supervision of SHO Ashok Kumar and DSP City-1 Gursher Singh, cracked the case and nabbed Ajit Pasi (20) and Mukesh (20).

SHO Ashok Kumar said: “We have arrested the suspects from Mauli Jagran village on Thursday evening. The third suspect, who is a minor, has not been arrested. During preliminary investigations, it was established that he did not play any role in the murder of Balkar Singh. The suspects were produced before a court, which remanded them in four-day police custody.”

A case of murder was registered against Ajit Pasi, Mukesh and a minor at the Nayagaon police station on June 15.

Balkar was working as a manager at Kahlon Farms here. He was unhappy with the drinking habits of Ajit Pasi, Mukesh and Manish. They used to have heated arguments over the issue for the past few days. The suspects attacked Balkar with an axe while he was asleep in his room at the farmhouse on Sunday night. He succumbed to his injuries at the PGI on June 16.
