148 more contract infection in Chandigarh

The city today witnessed three deaths due to Covid-19, taking the toll to 172. The UT saw 148 more persons testing positive for coronavirus today, taking the tally to 12,360.

A 43-year-old man from Hallo Majra died at the GMCH-32. He was suffering from coronary artery disease and dilated cardiomyopathy.

A 32-year-old man from Dhanas died at the PGI. He had chronic liver disease, acute kidney injury and necrotising fasciitis.

A 70-year-old woman from Sector 61 died at the GMCH-32. She was a case of type 2 diabetes mellitus, hypertension and coronary artery bypass grafting. A total of 234 patients recovered from the virus today. With this, the number of recovered patients in the city rose to 10,396. There are 1,792 active cases in the city.
