12 trainees take part in technical officials' clinic

Chandigarh, December 29

The Chandigarh Badminton Association (CBA) organised the year’s first technical officials’ clinic, under the aegis of the Badminton India Technical Officials Association (BITOA), at the Sector 38 Sports Complex.

As many as 12 trainees from the tricity participated in the clinic and now stand qualified for supervising state championship matches in Chandigarh and other states. These participants have also qualified to appear for the national umpires’ test.

“These participants have also become eligible to appear for the national umpires’ tests in future. The association also awarded certificates to these 12 trainees,” said Surinder Mahajan, general secretary, CBA.

The clinic was conducted by Rajiv Mehta (Delhi) (national referee/general secretary – BITOA) and international umpire Manjusha Shastrabudhe from Maharashtra. — TNS
