Mohali, March 27

One more person tested positive for Covid-19 today, taking the total number of positive cases in the district to six.

The Civil Surgeon, Dr Manjit Singh, said the 40-year-old woman was the wife of a 42-year-old man, who earlier tested positive for the virus with a travel history to the UK.

He said the woman had been admitted to an isolation ward at Gian Sagar Hospital in Banur while her husband was already under treatment in an isolation ward at the GMSH-16.

The couple had reached Mohali on March 12 while their daughter and elders at home have been home-quarantined. The Civil Surgeon said they had taken samples of 81 persons with a travel history to various parts of the world, of which the 40-year-old woman had tested positive while 51 others had tested negative and the reports of 29 others were still awaited. — TNS
