Government?s fiscal deficit at Rs5.47 lakh cr in Oct, says CGA

New Delhi, November 30

The Centre’ fiscal deficit works out to be Rs 5.47 lakh crore or 36.3 per cent of the budget estimates at the end of October 2021 due to improvement in revenue collection, according to the data released by the Controller General of Accounts (CGA) on Tuesday.

The deficit figures this fiscal appear better than the previous year when the expenditure-revenue gap had soared to 119.7% of the last year’s Budget Estimates. — PTI
