Carmakers extend warranty, free service amid lockdown

Carmakers are offering extension of warranty and free service amid the localised lockdowns. Tata Motors, Maruti, M&M, Renault, Kia and MG Motor have announced the extension for those vehicles whose warranty and free service has expired or due to expire amid the lockdown. Let’s have a look which company has announced what:

Tata Motors

Customers whose warranty and free service is due to expire between April 1 and May 31 will be extended till June 30. Dimple Mehta, head-Customer Care, Tata Motors, said: “The Covid surge has led to restricted movement and customers are not able to bring their vehicles for scheduled service.”

Maruti Suzuki

Maruti Suzuki India is offering extension of free service, warranty and extended warranty to customers. The extension would be applicable to free service and warranty period expiring between March 15 and May 31. These will be extended up to June 30.

Mahindra and Mahindra

The extension of the warranty period will be applicable to those vehicles whose warranty was set to expire between April 1 and May 31. The warranty will now be ‘auto extended’ till July 31.

Renault

The extension would be applicable to free service and warranty period expiring between April 1 and May 31. These services will be extended up to July 31.

MG Motors

MG Motors is offering an auto extension of periodic maintenance schedule. All schedules due in April and May will be extended till July 31.

Kia Motors

Kia Motors has also extended service schedules by two months for all vehicles.
