Show comments

There is nothing more truly artistic than to Love People. Quoting Charlie Chaplin, “We think too much and feel too little, more than machinery, we need humanity, more than cleverness, and we need kindness and gentleness.”

Over the past years with the advent of modernization, humanity is a virtue that tremendously seemed to be degrading. People lost social connections and somewhere became self-centered. But notably, the worldwide pandemic brought a major change in this notion. With people all around the globe dwelled in suffering and pain, some heroes deserve to be known and recognized. For the outstanding work that they’ve done, without any personal motive, being grateful is the least we can do! Focusing on such stories of absolute humanity, there is Harpreet Singh.

Social worker Harpreet Singh is the perfect example or rather the very epitome of humanity and selfless service. When the entire country lies amid a fatal disease, he with sincere dedication and diligence is serving every part of it. The fact that the Covid-19 pandemic has thrown some massive and gigantic challenges on everyone’s life is not unknown. While most are under lockdown, many are fighting for their life. Adding more to the crisis, shortage of necessary resources - from oxygen cylinders to masks and sanitizers, the constraints have been pretty big. Witnessing all these problems, he reached those in need with a helping hand. From supplying oxygen, masks, sanitizers, and many other necessities, social worker Harpreet Singh’s contribution is quite legendary. He went out of his way to provide oxygen gas to those who were struggling between life and death. During such grave situations, he incorporated himself with those who were unable to make both ends meet and contributed his best. Even petty things like masks have been facing a lack of supply, but undoubtedly are essential for survival. Harpreet Singh earnestly disturbed all such commodities to those who were unable to acquire these, like the poor or laborers moving around from one town to another. He also distributed masks to frontline workers and policemen

In the words of Mahatma Gandhi, “There are people in the world so hungry, that God cannot appear to them except in the form of bread.” Today, it's disheartening to witness the current state of the country, where people are struggling for essentials like food. In these hard times, it is surprisingly heartwarming to see individuals like Harpreet Singh who’ve come forward for help. Apart from distributing the essentials, he also organized several ‘langars’ for those in need. And for those who couldn’t be a part of this were supplied with sufficient quantities of ration, so that they can at least feed themselves and their family. Moreover, Harpreet Singh also reached out to several laborers and workers who were struggling on their way back to their hometown.

Witnessing the contribution of such individuals in these dark times is a shining light of hope and positivity. People like Harpreet Singh have resurfaced the virtue of humanity and undoubtedly are tokens of commendable solicitude.
