Pulse polio drive achieves 81% target

Bathinda, January 20

On the second day of the pulse polio drive today, 48,288 children aged between 0 and 5 years were administered polio drops during a door-to-door drive. While on day one of the drive 76,831 children were vaccinated, with this the total count of children vaccinated in the district has reached 1,25,199.

As per the Health Department records, 81.8 per cent of the vaccination target has been completed by Monday. On Tuesday, remaining children would be vaccinated via door-to-door campaigning.

Under the pulse polio drive, 699 polio booths, 32 transit polio booths, 29 mobile teams and 1,247 door-to-door teams have been constituted. To make the drive a success, 2,510 workers have been deployed. — TNS
