Now, residents can order medicines on mobile phone

The district administration has provided helpline numbers to residents though which they can order for medicines between 8 am and 8 pm daily. The medicines will be delivered to them on the doorstep. Now, residents will be able to send doctor's prescription slip on WhatsApp numbers and order medicines for home delivery.

DC B Srinivasan said, "Residents can state their requirement for medicines on 9878001451 or 9814282850. Thereafter, this will be forwarded to the respective area's medical store. Thereafter, a PCR motorcycle of the police will deliver the medicines on the doorstep. Later, more people will be roped in for it so that residents can get life-saving medicines on the doorstep." The DC also exhorted city residents to only place orders of required medicines so that everyone can get the needed medicines easily.

He said, "As of now, there will be no relaxation in the curfew and people must stay inside their homes. As per the directions of Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh, the district administration has been working round the clock to ensure that residents get essential items on the doorstep."

The DC has urged residents that the curfew has been imposed for their safety. He said if Covid was transmitted in the community, it would be difficult to control the disease. The DC added that every citizen needs to act responsibly and cooperate with the administration to fight the disease.

He said residents could call on helpline number 0164-2241290 to share any information regarding Covid or for any help. SSP Dr Nanak Singh said if anyone violates the curfew restrictions, he or she would be dealt strictly. — TNS
