Manpreet opens development works in Bathinda

Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal on Friday inaugurated and reviewed several development works in various areas of the city. The minister said he would not leave any stone unturned in changing the face of the city and would ensure availability of needed funds for development works.

Manpreet listened to grievances of the public and tried to resolve these on the spot. He expressed satisfaction over the smooth running of the traffic. Manpreet started work on laying of tiles on Nohria street, Ajit road and Power House road. Funds of Rs 60 lakh for Ajit road, Rs 24.39 lakh for Nohria street and Rs 22.40 for Power House road have been allotted, he said. Apart from these, Rs 1.60 crore has been given for a boundary wall and beatification of the DAV pond, the minister said.

Manpreet said to provide clean drinking water to city residents, a proposal to set up three RO plants at Amarpura Basti and Beant Nagar at a cost of Rs 40 lakh had been prepared. Similarly, there a proposal to repair sewer line in Hans Nagar, lay a 10-km STP pipeline from Transport Nagar to Chandbhan drain had been prepared. He said a parking facility would be established at Gandhi Market at a cost of Rs 23 lakh.
