District Magistrate B Srinivasan and SSP Dr Nanak Singh on Monday visited various areas during the curfew and encouraged the policemen deployed on roads to ensure a proper implementation of the curfew here. He appealed to the people of the district to stay home as the curfew was imposed to protect them from contracting the virus.

Talking to mediapersons at Hanuman Chowk, Deputy Commissioner B Srinivasan said, “They understand the problems being faced by poor people due to the curfew, but the risk of coronavirus is far more serious than these problems. Our small mistake can prove deadly for the whole humanity.

He assured that the district administration was working day and night to reach goods of daily use to people.

The SSP said anyone who did not have a curfew pass should not venture out of the house. He said passes had been issued to the people for the supply of essential commodities. People should stay home. Thirty vehicles were stopped on Monday for violating curfew. He said the police would be compelled to take action under Article 188 against those who violated the curfew.
