DAV College gets B++ from NAAC

DAV College, Bathinda, has secured first position among ten autonomous and affiliated colleges in the second cycle of accreditation issued by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), after a gap of 15 years. NAAC is an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Human Resource Development and the University Grants Commission (UGC).

The college has been awarded B++ grade (2.97 CGPA) for imparting quality education by the council. It received the first cycle of accreditation in 2004. Under Dr Sanjeev Sharma, who joined DAV College as principal in 2015, the college applied for the NAAC accreditation in 2019. Working on each and every aspect of the college, ranging from planning and curriculum, teaching and learning, research and innovations, infrastructure and learning resources, student support and progression to governance, was worked out immaculately.

Dr Sanjev Sharma congratulated everyone on the achievement. He thanked Dr Punam Suri, president of the DAV Managing Committee, under whose stewardship, the college has attained great heights and also the torchbearers of the DAV Managing Committee for their constant guidance and motivation.

The principal appreciated and applauded the IQAC and NAAC coordinators Dr Kusum Gupta and Dr Vandana Jindal for their conscientious and meritorious efforts, which helped the college fetch good results. He expressed his happiness over dedicated involvement of all teaching, non-teaching staff and students towards achieving difficult targets. Dr Sanjeev Sharma further said after successfully crossing the threshold, the college had become eligible to apply for ‘College with Potential for Excellence’ (CPE). He exhorted all staff members of the college to put in their whole-hearted efforts as before to realise the next goal.
