Bathinda: The annual athletics meet of JS Paramount School was organised on the school premises here on Thursday. School chairman Jaswinder Singh and president Mohit Garg were the chief guests at the event. In his address, they laid emphasis on the importance of sports in the life of students. Director Sonika Jakhar applauded the efforts of students and staff to organise the event. Harvir Singh and Parnoor Kaur were adjudged best athletes in the senior wing and Manraj Singh and Tanvir Kaur were declared best athletes in the junior wing. Students participated in events such as 100m race, 200m race, shot put, long jump and tug-of-war. Winners marched towards the victory stand to receive their medals and trophies from the chief guests. Cattle pound to be upgraded
Muktsar: The state government has decided to upgrade the cattle pound at Ratta Tibba village in the district, said Deputy Commissioner MK Aravind Kumar at a meeting on Thursday. The DC said cess was being collected for the work. Malout SDM Gopal Singh said the cattle pound had sufficient fodder for the next month. TNS
