So far, 978 cycles given under corporate social responsibility initiative

Bicycles were distributed to girls, of 23 government schools in district, by Guru Gobind Singh Refinery (GGSR). As many as 978 bicycles were given to girl students of Class VIII, IX and X under the corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative.
It is pertinent to mention here that for past the years, the refinery has been running various welfare programmes in the villages such as skill development centre, career counselling and English speaking courses, medical and healthcare camps, agriculture and animal husbandry camps, RO water and education support. Its current financial year’s programmes have already benefitted around 40,000 people in various villages.
Around 120 bicycles were distributed at Senior Secondary School, Bangi Kalan village by AGM-CSR, HMEL in presence of village panchayat members, school principal and staff members on Saturday. Members of village panchayat appreciated the initiative. The GGSR had distributed 627 and 232 bicycles to Class X, XI and XII students of government schools during financial year 2018-19 and financial year 2017-18 respectively.
