Trump berated New York Times investigative reporter Serge Kovaleski for his recent recollection of an article he had written a few days after the 9/11 attacks. Trump appeared to mock Kovaleski's physical condition. The reporter has arthrogryposis, which visibly limits flexibility in his arms. PTI

Eighteen people were killed and 100 homes torched in an attack in the dead of night by Nigeria's Boko Haram fighters on a southeastern village, local authorities said today. A humanitarian worker said the Islamists came from Nigeria and crossed the Komadougou Yobe river, the border between Niger and Nigeria. The United Nations has registered around 50 attacks and clashes between Islamist fighters and Niger troops since February. AFP

Miss World Canada was barred from entering China on Thursday to take part in this year's pageant in the southern island province of Hainan, a friend of the outspoken Chinese-Canadian contestant said. She said authorities gave no reason. Lin is an outspoken critic of Chinese religious policy and a follower of the Falun Gong meditation sect, which was outlawed by China's ruling Communist Party as an "evil cult" in 1999. AP

Largest Hindu temple to be opened in Oz on Nov 30

A Durga temple in Melbourne, described as the largest Hindu temple in Australia will be opened here this Sunday, meeting the long-pending wish of the growing Indian population in the country. The temple is located in Rockbank, near Melbourne, the capital of Victoria state. It has been under contraction for the last five years. PTI
